Applies to: Crew Connect by Rudra (io.rudra.crewconnect), iOS and Android.

Summary

Crew Connect does not collect any personal data. Your username and password are saved only on your device, encrypted with the operating system's secure storage (iOS Keychain / Android EncryptedSharedPreferences). Nothing is transmitted to Rudra, Apple, Google, or any third party.

What data the app stores

Crew Connect stores only the following on your device:

• The username you enter in your ship's captive Wi-Fi login form
• The password you enter in that same form

These are stored using the operating system's native secure-storage APIs and never leave your device. Uninstalling the app permanently deletes them.

What data the app transmits

When you tap “Sign in” on the ship's captive portal, your username and password are transmitted from the app to the ship's local router (hotspot.info or the router's private IP) for the purpose of authenticating you to the ship's Wi-Fi network. This is a real-time transmission that Apple's App Privacy definitions and Google's Data Safety definitions do not classify as “collection”, because the data is not stored on any Rudra server or third-party service.

The app makes no other network requests except:

• Loading the captive portal HTML from your ship's router
• Opening https://rudra.io in your default browser if you tap the “Visit rudra.io” shortcut on the app icon

What we do NOT do

• No analytics (no Firebase, no Google Analytics, no Mixpanel, no Sentry)
• No advertising SDKs
• No crash reporting to Rudra servers
• No user accounts on Rudra infrastructure
• No cloud sync of your credentials
• No cookies (native app, not a browser)
• No behavioural tracking
• No location tracking
• No contact list access
• No microphone or camera access
• No sale, sharing, or licensing of any user data, because we don't have any user data

Children

Crew Connect is designed for professional adult ship crew members. It is not directed to children under 13 (or 16 in EU). We do not knowingly collect any information from children.

Your rights (GDPR, CCPA, and similar)

Because Crew Connect stores no data on our servers, there is no data for us to disclose, correct, or delete on your behalf. To remove all data associated with the app, uninstall it from your device.

Changes to this policy

If we update this policy, the “Last updated” date at the top will change. Material changes will be communicated via an in-app notice on the next app version.
